Why managed PostgreSQL

The safe default that scales into anything.

Postgres has become the reference relational database: strict SQL, real transactions, JSON when you need it, and an extension for almost everything. We run current majors on NVMe with a synchronous standby, so the thing you already trust stops being your problem to operate.

ACID & relational
Constraints, joins and transactions you can rely on.
pgvector built in
Embeddings and similarity search, no extra service.
JSONB
Relational and document in one engine.
PostGIS
Geospatial queries at full speed.
Included on every plan

Everything a managed PostgreSQL needs, included.

The operational layer ships with the cluster: protection, networking and observability are how it works, not add-ons.

High availability
Primary plus a synchronous standby in separate zones, automatic failover with no data loss, +70% of the plan price.
Backups included
Nightly base backups plus continuous WAL archiving to S3: restore to any minute.
Scale without rebuilds
Move up the plan ladder as you grow; storage extends at $0.12 per GB.
TLS + IP allowlists
Encrypted in transit with scoped, per-app credentials.
Private networking
One-click private link to your Raff apps, $0 egress on the fabric.
Metrics & insights
Live metrics and slow-query insights in the console and CLI, free.
Versions & extensions

Postgres 14 through 16, plus the extensions you actually use.

Current majors with zero-downtime minor upgrades. Enable extensions from the console or the API, no rebuild, no ticket.

FAQ

The questions switchers ask.

Yes. pgvector, PostGIS and 60+ other extensions are available on every plan at no extra cost. Enable them from the console or with a single SQL command.

Postgres 14, 15 and 16. Minor version upgrades are applied automatically with zero downtime; major upgrades are a guided operation you trigger when ready.

Postgres records every change as it happens, so you can restore to any minute in the retention window. A restore creates a new database first, so you can check the data before you switch over.

High availability adds a standby copy of your database that takes over automatically if the main one fails. It costs a fixed percentage of the plan price, from +70% depending on the database, and you see the full cost on the same single bill line before you turn it on.

One line per database: the database you chose and its size, for example Postgres 4 GB. Backups, networking, traffic and monitoring are already inside that price, there is no separate fee for any of them. If you turn on high availability, it adds a fixed percentage to that same line. The only extra line you can ever see is more storage, at a flat price per GB.

Yes, it is a standalone product. Connect from anywhere over TLS with IP allowlists and scoped credentials. If your app runs on Raff Apps, a one-click private link adds a private wire with $0 egress on top.
